Volunteer Opportunities

Be part of an exciting volunteer team at Baycrest! Just a few hours of your time means so much!

Meal time
Most of us take for granted that we can eat what we want, whenever we like. Many Baycrest clients cannot feed themselves, and volunteers are needed to help at mealtimes. By volunteering to be an Eating Assistant you can help make each meal a celebration for our clients. Mandatory training will be provided.

Volunteers needed for Shabbat
This is a great opportunity for a volunteer to share in the Shabbat experience. Help lead the blessings over the challah, wine and candles every Friday at 4:30 p.m. Knowledge of Hebrew is an asset and training will be provided.

Youth opportunities
If you or your children are between the ages of 13 and 24, we have many volunteer opportunities in the evenings & Sundays assisting in recreational programmes.

SPARK: Community Partner Program
The Baycrest Spark Community Partner Program combines Jewish learning and reflection with community service and volunteering to provide an ongoing service to the elderly. Find out more about SPARK.

W.A. Café is looking for cashiers and people to help prepare food behind the counter weekdays.

The Wagman Centre is looking for people

As hosts to escort residents to their tables and socialize at lunchtime
To assist with the Arts & Crafts program

Musicians
Play musical instruments to help co-lead or lead sing-alongs.

Ambulatory Care Clinics Hostess
Volunteers needed t o reassure, calm and speak to clients. A good command of the English language, Russian and Yiddish would be an asset.

The Community Day Centre is looking for patient, kind, caring individuals to assist daily with their programs. Knowledge of Russian, Hebrew, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian an asset.

Friday Night Liberal Service Volunteers are needed from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. weekly.

Pet Visitors
Pet visitors make such a difference in the lives of our clients. If you and your dog are interested in visiting with our clients please contact the Volunteer Services Department.
