Aging & Brain Health Neuroinformatics Alzheimer's & Related Dementias

My research program uses clinical and advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques to study the brain’s structure and physiology. Our methods are applied to the study of aging and various neurological disorders. We are mainly interested in: (1) how resting-state functional MRI can be more accurately used to map brain networks; (2) how vascular health of the brain is associated with brain tissue integrity; and (3) how to map the vascular physiology and oxygen metabolism of the brain more non-invasively for clinical use. These questions help us to better understand the relationship between vascular, structural, and cognitive health of the brain and can help inform lifestyle and clinical decisions in terms of disease treatment and prevention.
