Mental health assessments, diagnoses and treatments may be available to adults aged 65 and over who live outside of the Greater Toronto Area through our secure videoconferencing service. The Telepsychiatry Service uses the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) to provide virtual consultations on an outpatient basis to seniors who may not have access to mental health services in their communities, or who may not be able to leave their homes to travel to Baycrest. The service is available throughout Ontario including under-serviced areas in Northern Ontario. Myth: Feeling depressed is a weakness. Fact: You are not weak if you struggle with mental health problems. Family history, changes to your brain, or the way difficult events impact you can all lead to such problems. Mental illnesses affect one in five Canadians.
