Every year on Administrative Professionals Day, we recognize and celebrate the more than 100 administrative professionals at Baycrest. They are a crucial part of our operations, and we wish to recognize and thank them for their remarkable skills and professionalism.
These employees provide invaluable services and support us in the delivery of exemplary care to our clients. They have gone above and beyond in the past few years to help us through the challenges of COVID-19.
This day is an opportunity for all of us to honour our administrative professionals for the important work they do and the significant contributions they make each day.
Please join us in recognizing these exceptional staff members for the tremendous role they play by reading below what administrative professionals at Baycrest are excited about at work and away from the office.
Shelah Gates, Unit Clerk, Baycrest Terraces:
“I appreciate our incredible residents. Listening to their stories about forgotten times and helping them navigate the current times is what makes me wake up every morning and want to come to work. Besides work, I love the outdoors and crafting!”
Lori Lazarovitz, Database Clerk, Baycrest Foundation Finance:
While at work, Lori enjoys “Helping our amazing donors with their tax-receiving issues and working with an incredible team.” She adds, “I enjoy spending time with family and friends and love to cook. I enjoy hiking and going to musicals.”
Christine Connor, Unit Clerk, Apotex Centre:
“I find it very gratifying to work with a team of people that are always willing to lend a helping hand. In my free time, I absolutely adore singing karaoke and taking trips to Niagara Falls whenever I can.”
Bev Silverman, Administrative Assistant, Research/Academy:
“I have been employed at Baycrest for a quarter of a century and am passionate about teaming up with brilliant instructors who seek to remedy Alzheimer's. When I'm not at work, I love to explore the world on my getaways.”
Tina Dimetros, Administrative Assistant, Day Treatment Centre
“I recently joined Baycrest and in my first week, I've already come to love what I'm learning! In my free time, I enjoy cooking, walking and decorating my house.”
Jessica Ure, Administrative Assistant, Baycrest Terraces
"It's a joy to engage in activities with the residents, to hear their adventures and step into their shoes, imagining what it was like to experience what they did. I'm passionate about gaming, Perler bead crafts and spending quality time with my family – my husband and chihuahua!"
Nicole Mintz, Manager, Hospital Board Governance and Office of the President & CEO:
When asked about how she stays motivated and maintains a high level of productivity, Nicole reveals that she has a paper up on her bulletin board with "The Four Agreements," which she was introduced to several years ago. "The one that I can do the most is 'Always do your best',” she says. “The rest I'm working on." In her free time, she is in a band called Muscle Souls. They write and perform their own original songs. Performing on stage with her band has had a profound effect on her confidence. "It pushed me out of my comfort zone and it was exhilarating!"
